Karen Baar
Writer Karen Baar is a well-regarded journalist who specializes in health. She co-authored, with E. Barrie Kavasch, Secrets of American Indian Healing (Bantam Books, 1999). Her last book, written with Sidney M. Baker, M.D., is The Circadian Prescription, published in 2000 by Putnam/Penguin.

Ms. Baar has written on topics ranging from alternative medicine to nutrition, health, and fitness for The New York Times, Health, Cooking Light, Family Circle, Self, Good Housekeeping, Natural Health, Parenting and other magazines. She has been a frequent contributor to Columbia Public Health and Yale Medicine as well as a regular writer for several consumer health newsletters.

Ms. Baar has a Masters in Public Health degree from the Yale Medical School. Before becoming a writer, she worked in both public and private health care organizations for 25 years.
